Friday Evening Keynote Panel: Diversity in Leadership: A Real Value Driver or Just an Image Thing?

Time and Date: 5:45-7:00 PM on Friday, May 22
Keynote Type: Panel
Location: Saywell Hall Theatre, Room 10081

In Canada, women have made impressive strides in the workplace over the past few decades, and many companies have started to recognize the value of diversity in their hiring. But is there more to be done? While hiring a diverse workforce has been demonstrated to make economic sense, what is the value of diverse leadership? There are very few women (if any) at the C-level of most companies. Does diverse leadership have the potential to have a similar impact to profitability and innovation that should drive us to find ways to create a competent and diverse leadership for industry or is it just a form of public relations? A panel of accomplished men and women from varying walks of life will discuss their perspectives and the value of the inroads made by women and the challenges facing the next generation.

Facilitator: Mario Pinto
Panelists: Rt. Hon. Kim Campbell, Stacey CerniukDiane Finegood, Fiona Macfarlane, Donna Wilson
