Findings

We’ve summarized our findings in the May 2013 edition of Perspectives magazine. For space reasons, we had to leave a few things out of the print version. The editorial staff at Perspectives did a fantastic job of producing tables and images to represent our results, but our original versions - including a considerable amount of material which didn’t make it into the published essay - are below.

You could start here, with the distribution of historical research across different world regions.

Or examine the growth (or otherwise) of wider-world history in recent decades.

Or you could indulge our conspiracy theorizing about why historians study particular regions (and overlook others).

Or you could read the draft version of our report (Small World-full report.pdf), which is much longer and baggier than the Perspectives version.
