About Graduation

Official Graduation Check

Before you apply for graduation we recommend that you meet with your departmental advisor(s) to do an official graduation check. Although you may have completed your program requirements, you must also complete the general degree requirements. Degree requirements vary depending on the type of degree you are pursuing (for example, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, etc). Contact your departmental advisor for further information.

Once you are sure that you have met all requirements for graduation, you can proceed to apply for graduation (see instructions below).

How to Apply to Graduate

You can apply for graduation during the final term you are enrolled at SFU:

Step 1: Log into goSFU
Step 2: From the menu at top left, expand "Self Service"
Step 3: Under "Self Service", select "Graduation/Convocation"
Step 4: Select "Apply for Graduation"
Step 5: Read the Instructions, scroll down, and click the "Continue" button to fill out the online application form.

Post Graduation

Now that you are about to graduate, you may be wondering, "What am I going to do with my degree?" We can help provide answers on career preparation for graduate schools or on professions applicable to your degree.

Career Services
Provides an online job search, one-on-one advising, group workshops and career fairs.

Graduate Programs
Provide information on graduate programs available at SFU.
(If you are planning to attend a graduate program at another institution, you will have to contact an academic advisor from that institution for more information.)

Career Prospects in:
Applied Science, Arts & Social Sciences, Business , Education, Health Sciences , Sciences (contact your major advisors for career options).
