The Indigenous Student Centre (ISC) hosted our first Lunch & Learn on July 12, 2023!
During this hour together we joined the virtual circle to learn more about the work we do and how the ISC supports Indigenous students attending SFU.
By the end of this workshop participants left with a greater understanding of supports and resources available to Indigenous students; gained insight and connections to a network of people and resources; additional opportunities available to Indigenous students outside of their faculty and/or community group; as well as methods of connecting with the ISC that are grounded in trust, humility, respect and reciprocity.
The content of this lunch & learn was geared towards Indigenous Students (newly enrolled and/or reconnecting) who have yet to connect with the ISC, as well as SFU Staff & Faculty.
If you missed this event, keep a look out for future ISC Lunch & Learn opportunities. If you are interested in learning more about the Indigneous Student Centre, or would like us to host a Lunch & Learn for your department, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
