President and Vice-Chancellor

Dr. Joy Johnson is SFU’s 10th president and vice-chancellor. A distinguished academic and researcher, she is committed to carrying out SFU's vision to be a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future.

Tamara Vrooman
Chancellor

Tamara Vrooman was appointed Simon Fraser University’s 12th chancellor in June 2020. A transformational leader and current president and CEO of the Vancouver Airport Authority, as chancellor, she is a member of the Senate and Board of Governors, though not an employee of the university.
