Connecting SFU alumni around the world—one event at a time

At SFU, alumni connection doesn’t stop at graduation—it grows stronger with every shared experience.

Through engaging events hosted locally and around the world, SFU’s Alumni team continues to create meaningful opportunities for alumni to reconnect, celebrate, and build community.

That commitment was clear in 2025, when the SFU Alumni team hosted more than 70 events, with over 1,800 people registered. From professional development sessions to social celebrations, these gatherings reflect the diversity, energy, and global reach of SFU alumni.

What’s coming up

The months ahead are filled with opportunities for alumni to come together in inspiring and memorable ways. Registration or a waitlist is open for these three events:

• Graduate Women’s Council: International Women’s Day Panel | Vancouver
  An inspiring evening featuring female industry leaders sharing insights from their career journeys and values-driven leadership experiences, hosted on March 4. Learn more & register
• SFU Alumni Hockey Night | Edmonton
  Celebrate the end of the NHL regular season with fellow SFU grads at Rogers Place as the Edmonton Oilers face the Vancouver Canucks on April 16. Although the event is sold out, you can Join the waitlist
• SFU Alumni Luncheon @ Web Summit 2026 | Vancouver
  On May 13, enjoy a casual drop-in luncheon during Web Summit Vancouver, offering alumni an easy way to connect and network. Learn more & sign up

Events we’re working on

In addition to the events above, the Alumni team is planning gatherings in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, South Korea, Calgary, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Alumni in the Lower Mainland can also look forward to SFU’s Outstanding Alumni Awards this spring—an evening dedicated to celebrating remarkable achievements and impact. More locations coming later in the year.
