Summer 2025 Local Field School

Location: SFU Burnaby, North Vancouver (Seymour Reserve), and Squamish (Stawamus Reserve)
Information Session: February 6, 1:30pm-3:00pm in Saywell Hall 9084.
The summer 2025 local field school will run during Intersession (May 12-June 20), and will consist of two courses: ARCH 434-3 Archaeological Field Methods, and ARCH 435-6 Field Work Practicum. ARCH 434 will be held on-campus in Burnaby for the first two weeks, and ARCH 435 will be held off-site for the final four and a half weeks. Analysis and cataloguing will take place at SFU Burnaby in the final days of ARCH 435. Courses will take place Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
The cost of the field school will be standard tuition rates, a mandatory course fee of $500 (unspent course fees will be returned to students), and the purchase of a field kit. The department will arrange for daily transportation to Squamish; students will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to the Seymour Reserve in North Vancouver.
