SFU president and vice-chancellor Joy Johnson is stepping down from her role, effective December 31, 2026. Therefore, SFU is undertaking a process to select its next president as mandated and outlined by Policy B10.06.

This process is expected to take approximately a year and includes the formation of a Presidential Search Committee and broad consultation, both across the university and with appropriate external constituents.
