Biography

Everett Brisbin is a First Nations undergraduate student in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. Raised in Port Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, he currently resides on the traditional territory of the Kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) First Nation peoples. Everett is actively pursuing a degree in Health Sciences with aspirations of a career in the medical field as a physician in the future.

His research interests include Indigenous health inequities, particularly the disproportionate prevalence of chronic illnesses in First Nations populations, the impact of environmental pollutants on economically marginalized communities, as well as a broad interest in medical sciences. With a deep dedication to Indigenous health and medical research, Everett aims to contribute to meaningful, community-driven solutions that promote wellness and health sovereignty for Indigenous peoples in Canada.
