Climate and Energy Research Day 2017

Exploring the Climate, Water and Energy Nexus

 

Seed Grant Proposal - Deadline:  June 26, 2017

Goal:

Promote interdisciplinary research at SFU in the areas of Climate, Water or Energy, by challenging researchers to work across their disciplinary boundaries and envision projects that span at least two points of this nexus.

 

Maximum Request: $5,000.  Seed funding provided by the VP Research and International.

Criteria:

1.     Relevance of the problem to the Climate, Water and Energy Nexus. Proposals must address at least two of the nexus points to be eligible.

2.     Interdisciplinary team.  Proposals must involve at least 2 different Departments

3.     Feasibility of plan and demonstration of team cooperation to complete project activities

4.     Some likelihood of proposed activities to leverage new external funding for a fundable SFU team or project

Research proposals will be evaluated by an adjudication committee selected by the Deans of participating Faculties. Proposals are due by June 26, 2017 and should be sent to Nastenka Calle, PICS Program Coordinator, at n_calle@sfu.ca. The best research proposal will receive $5000 dollars in seed money in preparation for the next stage.
