Canada's Top Climate Change Risks
The climate is changing, with temperatures in Canada rising at twice the global average. Over the next 20 years, we can expect to see increasing impacts of climate change, from more frequent and severe hot extremes, to thawing of permafrost, to increases in extreme precipitation. What are the top climate change risks for Canada, and which have the most potential to be minimized by adaptation measures?
One of our housed conmunity initiatives, ACT Adaptation, has been involved in the Council of Canadian Academies' new report where Executive Director Deb Harford served on the expert panel to identify Canada's top climate change risks and adaptation potential. Check out their latest report and follow ours and ACT Adaptation's social media channels for more info about the report and project.
