QS World University Rankings 2016: SFU ranked 11th in Canada and is one of only 13 Canadian institutions in the world’s Top 300. QSrankings are among the most widely read comparison of universities, evaluating more than 800 of the world’s top universities based on six key indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, student-to-faculty ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio.
Research Infosource study on Research Universities of the Year: Among Canada’s comprehensive universities, SFU leads in the category of publication impact – a measure of the probability of SFU research being cited in peer-reviewed academic literature. Maclean’s list of comprehensive universities: SFU was named Canada’s number one comprehensive university again in the 2017 Maclean’s review of Canadian universities. For the last eight out of nine years, SFU has been in top spot among Canada’s comprehensive universities. This shows SFU has delivered on its mission to invest in student services and resources, and attracted high research funding per full-time faculty member.
