3MT: Farinaz Rikhtehgaran awarded People's Choice Award

Congratulations to Farinaz Rikhtehgaran for receiving the People's Choice Award at this year's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, 3 Minute Thesis Competition!

Farinaz is currently working towards her master's of arts in Gerontology. Her research focuses on age-friendly cities and the walkable built environment. For this competition, Farinaz showcased her work to highlight the importance of creating public spaces that are accessible for older people and people living with different kinds of disabilities. 

"Presenting at the 3MT competition was an excellent opportunity for me to challenge myself, improve my presentation skills, and communicate my research to a wider audience. Aside from the academic competition spirit, I made some great friends. All graduate students should give it a try," says Farinaz.
