Research Description

Through an intersectional analysis, I will be investigating the British Columbia Federation of Women (BCFW) from the mid-1970s to early 1980s. By looking at the relational power structures associated with self-prescribed identities such as race, class, and sexual orientation, I will investigate how these differing identities and power structures affected the internal and external political activity of the organization. In addition to an intersectional analysis, my methodology will include oral history as I aim to conduct interviews with former BCFW members.
