Tina Adcock wins 2018 Cormack Teaching Award
Assistant professor Tina Adcock of the Department of History has been announced among the recipients of the 2018 Cormack Teaching Awards! The awards were created in 2010 and are given in recognition of excellent and innovative teaching, within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
Dr. Tina Adcock joined the Department of History at SFU in 2014 teaching a wide range of courses in Canadian and Environmental history. Her research concerns the cultural and environmental history of the modern Canadian North, especially travel and sojourning in the region. Her current book manuscript examines the culture of northern Canadian exploration in roughly the first half of the twentieth century and her new project examines fur trapping by sojourners in the western Canadian Arctic and Subarctic during the twentieth century.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Adcock, and save the date for the FASS Fall Reception and Cormack Symposium on October 11, 2018 where she will receive her well-deserved award.
