African Ancestry Project report released

April 01, 2022

In January we interviewed Labour Studies and Sociology Assistant Professor Maureen Kihika and Health Sciences Research Fellow Alice Mũrage about the African Ancestry Project, a research initiative highlighting the diverse identities and experiences of those with African ancestry in B.C.

The project recently culminated in a report, titled Worlds Within: Diverse Histories, Identities and Experiences of Black People of African Ancestry in British Columbia. The report was featured on the CBC and is now available to the public.

A link to the full report and additional details on the project can be found on the B.C. Black History Awareness Society website.
