Daniel Westlake
Biography
Daniel Westlake is a term assistant professor at the School of Public Policy at Simon Fraser University. He teaches courses on Canadian politics, quantitative methods, and multiculturalism and immigration policy.
Daniel’s research interests include the development and effects of multiculturalism and immigration policies, competition between left parties in Canadian politics, and diversity and representation in Canadian legislatures. He has published in a number of journals, including the Canadian Journal of Political Science, Party Politics, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, and Canadian Public Policy. Daniel is currently working on a book project examining competition between the Liberals and NDP in Canadian federal politics.
Daniel completed his PhD in political science at the University of British Columbia and has previously held positions at the University of Victoria, Queen’s University, and the University of Saskatchewan.
