PDA Professional Development Series 2026

Dear SFU Postdocs,

We are excited to invite you to join us on March 11 @ 3 PM in ASB10900 for our second event of this year's Professional Development Series! Dr. Francesco Berna (Department of Archaeology) will lead the upcoming session "How to Write a Successful Grant Proposal". The session will consist of a 30–40-minute overview of the grant writing process by Dr. Berna, followed by time for questions.

Please register here by Monday, March 9th.

Dr. Francesco Berna is a Professor of Archaeology specialized in Geoarchaeology. Throughout his career, he has held grants from the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), the European Research Council (ERC), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), and the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI).

Dr. Berna will cover some of the key aspects of navigating grant applications and will gladly answer any questions you may have. Please note that you have the option of writing down your questions in the survey link above.

We hope this event will help alleviate some of the uncertainty surrounding grant writing, and look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,
Your SFUPDA
