Science Peer Mentorship
The Science Peer Mentorship Program is a faculty-specific mentorship program for incoming first year Science students. Mentors will be paired with an incoming first year student who shares similar interests and educational goals. Mentors act as a guide, friend, and resource to their mentee, helping them transition to SFU.
The time commitment to this program includes training (online and in-person), flexible communication and meetings with your mentee over the year, and attendance at program-specific events, when possible.
Along with their mentorship role, Mentors are encouraged to become Welcome Leaders so that new students can meet their Mentor on Welcome Day, and continue the mentor-mentee relationship into the term.
