RECREATIONAL AND OUTDOOR CAMPS

Junior (6yrs)

Spring Break Junior campers experience a variety of themed activities including recreational and co-operative games, creative arts & crafts, and stories. This is a great offering for young minds and a phenomenal introduction to the SFU Camps Experience!

Note: Campers will be enjoing outdoor activities and will need to pack extra clothing each day.

Mountain Madness (7-9yrs)

Come join us as we learn basic outdoor skills (eg. safety, basic orienteering, introductory survival skills), hike a local trail, learn about local plants and wildlife, and develop an appreciation for the environment. Campers must wear closed toed shoes and be dressed for the weather.

Note: This Camps enjoys the outdoors rain or shine, please be prepared with weather appropriate gear and extra clothing each day.

SPORT CAMPS

Soccer Boys (6-13yrs)

SFU Men's Soccer offers elite coaching for all camps. Divided into skill development, team building and mental training with small-sided World Cup games. The week's activities will culminate in the elusive Cup Finals.

Campers will be grouped by age and skill level. This is a coed camp, however, instruction is organized and supervised by the SFU Men's Soccer Team.

Note: This camp takes place outdoors, please be prepared with weather appropriate gear and extra clothing each day. Please pack cleats/outside shoes, and inside runners each day.

Soccer Girls (6-12yrs)

Each day is divided into a morning of technical and tactical soccer development, with an afternoon of small sided World Cup games. SFU Women's Soccer coaches, athletes and selected elite alumni provide elite coaching. Campers will be grouped by age and skill level.

Future Ready Minds (6-12yrs)

Future-ready Minds™ is a scientifically-backed, experiential learning program designed by child education and mental health experts to help children and youth develop the three key future-ready skills of innovation, collaboration and resilience. 

  * Please note: This camp is run by Future Ready Minds and will take place at The Greek Orthodox Community of East Vancouver.  

MINDSET MASTERS (6-8 Years)

This program allows young leaders to explore brain science, mindfulness exercises, personal goals and positive mindset tools to help them develop an "I CAN DO IT!" attitude

Inventing, problem solving, prototyping, and technology literacy are key skills students need to succeed in our modern, fast-paced world. S.T.E.A.M'ers helps children to explore their curiosity and creativity, in a fun environment.

TED-STYLE PUBLIC SPEAKING (9-12 Years)

Gain confidence to express your big ideas! TED-Style Public Speaking is a great program for young leaders who want to build their public speaking skills with interactive activities, personalized coaching, and fun speech exercises, leading to their very own Ted-style talk.

READ & LEAD:  (6-8 Years)

This program uses fun, interactive tools to teach reading fundamentals and comprehension skills required to become successful leaders. We work on the foundational skills in a playful way and use storytelling to keep children engaged.

CLINICS & ID CAMPS

Basketball ID Camp Mens (15-18yrs)

Designed for Athletes wanting to pursue College Basketball.
The SFU Men's Basketball Unsigned Senior Identification Camp is a competitive tryout over two days that includes on-court skill work, competitive scenarios and scrimmages run by the SFU coaching staff. This camp is meant for players that are in Grade 12, going into Grade 12 or have recently graduated high school.
Each attendee will receive a camp t-shirt.

Soccer ID Camps Mens (16-19yrs)

The SFU men's soccer Identification Camp is designed to provide players (ages 16+ yrs) an opportunity to showcase themselves by going through a variety of technical exercises, small-sided and full-sided games. Don’t miss out on this unique experience to interact and be coached by the SFU Men’s Soccer varsity staff.

Soccer ID Camps Womens

The SFU Women’s Soccer ID camp is offered to female soccer players born in 2005, 2006 and 2007. This is a unique opportunity for players to showcase themselves and interact with the SFU coaching staff.
The camp also provides goalkeeper-specific training at every session, led by SFU goalkeeper coach Anna Picarelli.
"Our goal is to give players the platform to showcase their abilities to play at the collegiate level.”

Swim Camp | Stroke Clinic (8-18yrs)

We are very excited to offer a “Stroke clinic” during the spring break, you will have the unique opportunity to learn the stroke mechanics from the best coaches and the top canadian swimmers.
The clinic will be divided into four challenging abilities: Pulling, Kicking, Drills and Swim technique.

90 minutes session for each stroke: 30 minutes Activation + 30 minutes Stroke instruction and analysis + 30 minutes Starts & Turns

Volleyball ID Camp (13-18yrs)

These camps are designed for any high school athletes who are interested in playing post-secondary volleyball and who want to maintain their volleyball form over the spring break. Head SFU Volleyball Coach Gina Schmidt and her staff will lead a university-level training session that includes both skill development drills and gameplay.

Volleyball Camp | Position Specific (12-17yrs)

The Position Specific Training camps are for female and male athletes entering grades 7-12 who have established a position on their respective school or club teams. Sessions will be led by SFU Head Coach, Gina Schmidt, and will focus on improving the techniques specific to certain positions. Limited spots will be available on a first-come/first-serve basis.
