  • The AIMhi Stay Strong App is an innovative tool that addresses the mental health and wellbeing concerns of First Nations Australians using a cross-cultural approach. 
  • The app is based on more than 15 years of research and collaboration within the Aboriginal and Islander Mental Health Initiative (AIMhi) and was developed by the Menzies School of Health Research, in partnership with Queensland University of Technology

  • Offers a mindfulness program that complements the complements the Pitjantjatjara and Ngaanyatjarra meditations.
  • Meditations are scripted and recorded by senior Anangu women. 
  • Created with the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women’s Council.

  • Immediate online mental health and counselling interventions for Indigenous peoples in Canada. 
  • Online Chat Counselling Service available in English and French. Toll-free Help line (1-855-242-3310), 24 hrs/7 days a week (by request, phone counselling is also available in Cree, Ojibway, and Inuktitut).

    Keewaytinook Okimakayanak “KO eHealth Telemedicine Services” - https://www.kochiefs.ca/telemedicine

  • Provides services to its member First Nations (Deer Lake First Nation, Fort Severn First Nation, McDowell Lake First Nation, North Spirit Lake First Nation, Poplar Hill First Nation) in Northern Ontario. Created prior to COVID-19. 
  • Offers a telemedicine program for First Nation communities and during the COVID-19 pandemic, is providing a simpler alternative to purchasing a room-based videoconferencing system (must reach out for access).

  • Website houses a variety of resources for Indigenous peoples living in Alberta including the Wâhkômiwêw Connections Programs (Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Parkland, and Yellowhead County) (St. Paul, Cold Lake, & Bonnyville) is offering (telephone, social media support), as well as additional physical, emotional, mental and spiritual support

  • Offers a Document Library with a variety of downloadable resources for offering Indigenous mental health (Family Members/Caregivers Guidebook, etc.), Accredited courses, Buffalo Riders program (a program to provide First Nations youth with brief and early interventions in reducing substance use behaviour).

  • Funded by the province of the Government of Ontario, Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy. Located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek.
  • Governed by twenty-one First Nation member communities. Twelve elected board of directors serve the members from four different areas; Manitoulin, Highway 69, North Shore and Northern regions. 
  • Ontario-based, services free of charge for Ontario organizations and individuals. Online resources that come in a “variety of print and multi-media formats and distributed through Za-geh-do-win Information Clearinghouse." Also offers pamphlets on stress management, abuse, anger, bullying, aboriginal mental health, non-violence and an extensive catalogue of resources to give/lend.

  • Established in 1974 and provides Indigenous based programs dealing with addictions. Has a Board of Directors. 
  • Offers Recovery Community Information during COVID-19 (Information Lines, Zoom Meetings, Facebook Groups).

  • This is a referral based, no-cost service and is available to all self-identifying Indigenous people in British Columbia, including individuals who identify as non-status First Nations. 
  • The service provides Indigenous people with access to specialists in addictions medicine and psychiatry over the phone and through Zoom. The service also encourages referring provider or community health support person to attend the specialist appointment with client to ensure proper care planning and support. 
  • Substance Use and Addictions Medicine service runs Monday-Friday 1.30-5.30 pm. Psychiatry service runs Monday-Friday 10.00am-3.00pm.
