Welcome to the Cognitive Science Program

Cognitive science is for students who are willing to ask questions and critically engage a wide range of perspectives from different disciplines. The multi-faceted nature of cognitive science means that students will develop a variety of applicable skills and knowledge, and the ability to pursue either professional positions or further education at the graduate level. The Cognitive Science Program at SFU equips students with the ability to communicate clearly; critically evaluate evidence and data; program and use computers; and apply conceptual, analytical and interpersonal skills to a variety of situations. Find out more through the Who - What - When - Where - Why - How links above, and click here to find out more about the Program.

Nancy Hedberg is the current Director of the Cognitive Science Program.

Steve DiPaola returns as Director of the Cognitive Science Program in September, 2013. Click here for the December 2010 issue of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science Newsletter where an interview with Steve and a feature on his research on the Discovery Channel is available. Steve is on sabbatical from Sept 1, 2012.
