Introduction

Earthquake is a sudden release of energy in the Earth’s crust that creates seismic waves due to crustal plates motion. It causes more than 40,000 deaths a year worldwide.
Human's life are at risk because of earthquake.
Risk involve with two aspect:

              Risk = Hazard + vulnerability

Hazard is the probability of a natural hazard occur at sufficient magnitude to impact on specific locations.

Vulnerability is the potential exposure of people, assets, social and economic activities, etc., to harm.
Several conditions that may shape vulnerability:

  1. Individual: Personal age/gender/education/cultral condition/experience.

  2. Community: Building quality, emergency services,etc,.

  3. Economic: Individual and society wealth.

  4. Political: Political conditions, government policies and enforcement.

  etc.
Individual person and community make a society. In this project I will combine this two conditions as Social aspect.

Project goal: Earthquake vulnerability assessment on Social and Economic aspects.
