The population data standardization uses Linear Monotonically Decreasing function. Areas that have higher population number are considered to be more vulnerable.

Building construction period data again use Linear Monotonically Decreasing function for all 4 intervals. Areas where more old buildings are located are condisered to be more vulnerable.

This project want to exam how fast people can get medical services if they are injured. Distance to hospital location is used to shows this factor.
The FUZZY standardization of hospital distance data uses J-shaped Monotonically Decreasing function. Longer distance from hospital means more vulnerable and it never goes to zero.

The weight of all factors are determined using AHP calculation. In AHP, each factor are examined by comparing it with other factors to see how much it is more important or less important to other factors. Then AHP will calculate the weight for different factors. In his project, Building Age is the most important factor and buildings constructed before 1960 are considered to be the most dangerous and give heavy weight . Age group and population number are considered to have similar importance. In age group, people under 10 years old are considered most vulnerable, followed with people in Age >70. VANDIX is more important than Hospital distance because it is associated with people's preparation ability whereas hospital distance are more associated with the after damage help. In this project, the preparation ability is more importance. br> The result of the weight for each factor is shown in the right image.
