Children have a strong capacity for attending to, and identifying symmetry, which is helpful when sorting, comparing, and constructing shapes. These lessons are intended to further students' knowledge of symmetry and develop their reasoning with properties of symmetry by exploring vertical, horizontal, and oblique symmetry.

Using the concept of continuous symmetry, this lesson extends their understandings to include the notion of constructing lines of symmetry.
