Green Infrastructure Engagement and Outreach: Dec 10, 2020

Abstract

On 10 December 2020, the Pacific Water Research Center will be hosting a workshop to discuss ways to improve and enhance public engagement related to green infrastructure.  The workshop will explore public perceptions of green infrastructure, the potential benefits of improved public understanding and engagement, and strategies to build on existing engagement and outreach efforts.

Shauna Sylvester, the Executive Director of Simon Fraser University’s Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue will provide an opening presentation to frame the challenges and opportunities of public engagement initiatives.  Presenters from Vancouver, Toronto, and Whistler, will discuss engagement successes and challenges from these municipalities, followed by a group discussion and Q&A.  Please register for the upcoming workshop by sending an e-mail to nick_mead-fox@sfu.ca.  A zoom link and agenda will be provided upon registration.

The workshop is part of a series of dialogues that focus on green infrastructure implementation organized by the Pacific Water Research Center. Starting in 2019, a number of municipal and First Nations’ governments have participated in discussions to address the challenges and harness the opportunities of green infrastructure implementation.  For more information please visit the PWRC website or reach out to us on social media."
