Clan midfielder Colin Streckmann and head coach Alan Koch have been named the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) 2009 men’s soccer player and coach of the year. A Clan senior, Streckmann finished the regular season with eight goals and seven assists and helped SFU to the 2009 A.I.I. championship by scoring the game-winning penalty kick goal in the Clan’s opening round 1-0 over Ohio Dominican. Koch, in his second season as coach, led his team to a 15-3 regular season record, an A.I.I. championship and a 1-0 victory in the opening round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) men’s soccer national championship. SFU also led the A.I.I.'s First Team selections with six athletes making the top roster this year.
