Onboarding Checklist

PHD Program Requirements and Courses

To earn your PhD degree, you will need to complete a set of requirements and courses. Our program is designed to provide you with a strong foundation in sustainable energy engineering, while also allowing you to tailor your studies to your interests and career goals.

Supervisory Committee

Your supervisory committee will play a crucial role in guiding you through your studies and research. We encourage you to build a strong relationship with your committee members, who will provide you with feedback and mentorship throughout your journey.

Graduate Progress Report

The Graduate Progress Report is a key tool for monitoring your progress and ensuring that you are meeting the program requirements in a timely manner. It is completed annually and helps you and your supervisory committee to identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.

QUALIFYING EXAM

The Qualifying Exam is an important milestone in the PhD program and is designed to assess your readiness to undertake independent research.

Thesis, Defence and Graduation

The thesis, defence, and graduation are the culminating events of the PhD program. Your thesis will showcase the original research you have conducted, and your defence will provide an opportunity to present and defend your findings. Upon successful completion of your defence, you will be awarded your PhD degree.
