Faculty Elections - Spring 2025
Call for Nominations
A call for nominations is now issued for faculty vacancies on Board of Governors, Senate, Senate Committees (DQAC, SGAAC, SUAAC), and Faculty College.
Eligibility to Nominate, Vote and Stand for Election:
All faculty (or designate electoral equivalent) employed by the University as full-time continuing or part-time continuing (50% or greater) shall be eligible to nominate, stand for election and vote except for the Faculty College positions. Faculty Members at the following ranks shall be eligible for Faculty College membership: Associate Professor with Tenure, Professor with Tenure, Senior Lecturer, and University Lecturer.
Details on eligibility are included in the University Act, the election sections of the Rules of Senate, and the University's Academic Policies.

The completed nomination form and an abbreviated CV and/or statement of interest from the nominee (combined information is limited to one page), must be received by Monday, March 24, 2025 at 4:00 pm. Send to senate@sfu.ca.

**Faculty College
The Faculty College is an elected body whose purpose is to provide a pool of individuals to serve on a Faculty Review Committee (Articles 29.25 – 29.34) or a University Salary Appeal Committee (Articles 33.23 – 33.28) where needed. Each Faculty shall be allocated spaces for Faculty College members as follows:
• 4 each for Applied Sciences; Business; Communication, Art & Technology; Education; Environment; Health Sciences; and Science.
• 6 for Arts and Social Sciences.
Faculty Members at the following ranks shall be eligible for Faculty College membership: Associate Professor with Tenure, Professor with Tenure, Senior Lecturer, and University Lecturer. Academic administrators above the level of Chair, members of Tenure and Promotion Committees, and candidates for promotion to Professor or University Lecturer are not eligible for membership on the Faculty College.
The election of Faculty College members will be conducted in accordance with the procedures for electing Faculty Members to Senate. Each year, by the end of June, two Faculty Members will be elected from the Faculties of Applied Sciences; Business; Communication, Art and Technology; Education; Environment; Health Sciences; and Science, and three Faculty Members will be elected from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Faculty Members elected to the Faculty College will have a term of office that commences on September 1 and lasts for two years. Both genders must be represented among the representatives from each Faculty.
Online Voting
If required, online voting will take place from Tuesday, March 25 to Friday, March 28, 2025. Voters will receive an email notification with voting information, candidate information, and a link to the online voting system. The data from the voting system will be downloaded on March 31, 2025. The candidate(s) with the highest number of votes will be declared elected.
