Introduction

I have worked as a professional consulting archaeologist since 2002 for various companies in Ontario and BC. Some of the jobs I have conducted over the years include archaeological overview assessments, impact assessments, preliminary field reconnaissance surveys, excavations, inventories, construction monitoring, artifact analysis, dendrochronology, database management, technical report preparation and editing. Currently I am employed by BC Hydro as a Senior Environmental Coordinator and subject matter expert in archaeology.

I volunteer for the British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists (BCAPA) and have spent four years as a director in the roles of treasurer, vice president, and president.

MA Research

For my thesis I intend on examining the design, development, and sustainability of cultural heritage information sharing agreements between First Nations communities, government and private sector companies/corporations in southwest BC. By reviewing at a variety of different agreements I aim to outline the benefits, challenges and/or limitations of developing information sharing agreements and determine how effective they are, or are perceived to be, in managing impacts to heritage resources.

Other Activities

If I am not at the office or in the field I can usually be found hiking, biking, exploring the many culinary delights Vancouver has to offer, or hanging out with my friends and family. When I need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city I head off to our place on Vancouver Island to relax.
