Summer 2024 Local Field School

Location: SFU Burnaby, North Vancouver, and various sites in the Howe Sound region

The summer 2024 local field school will run during Intersession, and will consist of two courses: ARCH 434-3 Archaeological Field Methods, and ARCH 435-6 Field Work Practicum. ARCH 434 will be held on-campus in Burnaby for the first two weeks, and ARCH 435 will be held off-site for the final four and a half weeks. Analysis and cataloguing will take place at SFU Burnaby in the final days of ARCH 435.

The cost of the field school will be standard tuition rates, plus a small course fee (TBD). Unspent course fees will be returned to students. Students will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to the North Vancouver site, and the department will arrange for transportation to Porteau Cove and Squamish.

    May 21 - June 16, 9:30am-4:00pm (field)
    June 17-19, 9:30am-4:00pm (on campus)
