Nearly a decade later, Ode to What Remains of Us (Ode ao que Resta de Nós) captures the Coemeteria Olisipponis Memorial Collection project at its present moment. Produced and directed by Sofia Esperto, a Portuguese filmmaker, this one-hour documentary explores the scientific, academic, ethical, and cultural dimensions of working with human remains.
On April 30, 2026 a screening took place at Simon Fraser University hosting faculty members, students, and the BC community. The screening was followed by a Q&A session, offering space for reflection and discussion about the project, the film, and the broader questions it raises.
