Sub-Project: Action and Hope through Art (AHA): Engaging Children and Youth through Arts-based Methods towards Climate Hope in Coastal Regions of BC
This project aims to mitigate the psychological impacts of climate change and improve the mental health of youth in coastal regions of BC using arts-based participatory action research methodologies in partnership with community members. The main goal of this project is to work alongside youth and empower them to learn, design, teach, and implement community-based actions towards climate change mitigation in a way that supports their mental health resilience to climate change. Through the use of arts-based research we aim to illuminate aspirations of youth as it relates to their desired actions on climate change and support their sense of purpose as change-makers not only in the community but on the planet through self-reflection and healing.
