Pamela Post

Pamela Post (Ggol’gm Hana’ack) (she/they) is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster, filmmaker and educator based in Vancouver in beautiful Coast Salish territory. She is Ts’msyen and German-Canadian, well-known as a longtime CBC news reporter/documentarian and university journalism teacher. Pamela has won major awards and fellowships for her often social-justice-themed CBC reporting. She has strong connections to her family’s traditional village of Kitsumkalum, where she worked in 2019 with Ts’msyen youth at the K-12 band school on a podcast/short film project on 2SLGTBQ+ themes, and strong family ties to Tsimshian villages in Alaska. She is a Sm’algyax learner and beginner speaker of the language her Ts’msyen grandmother spoke fluently.

Her short, stop motion animated film Haboolm Ksinaalgat SOUL CATCHER (based on a true story from her Ts’msyen father’s childhood on the Skeena River) co-directed with Métis filmmaker Amanda Strong, makes its world premiere at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) in September, 2026. Pamela’s next story project is Silver Beads on Silken Thread, based on her Ts’msyen aunt’s diaries written from her sick bed in a TB sanatorium. Pamela was given the name Ggol’gm Hana’ack (Cloudberry Woman) in a 2023 traditional naming ceremony by the Tsimshian Tribal Association in Ketchikan, Alaska.
