Department of Mathematics Matching Option
We recognize that there are qualified, motivated students who do not have an exisiting relationship with a potential faculty supervisor. As such, we will accept applications from students seeking USRA supervisors until December 2, 2026. The department USRA committee will review the applications and match students with preferred projects/supervisors, who will then choose the appropriate award option and submit the joint application through the application system by the Janaury 15, 2027 deadline.
Please note that while we will make every effort to match students a preferred project/supervisor, we cannot guarantee match due to the competitive nature of the awards. Additionally, we cannot guarantee that every applicant matched with a project/supervisor will receive a USRA.
How to Apply to the Department of Mathematics Matching Option

- A document clearly indicating which awards you are interested in and confirming your eligiblity for the awards of interest.
- A document listing the projects you are interested in, ranked in order of interest (1 being the most interested).
- A curriculum vitae (CV).
