Meet your Executive

  • Kieran is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences researching anthropogenic noise and the ecological effects of noise pollution on fish and invertebrates communities. (Liber Ero Postdoctoral Fellowship)

  • Anil is a postdoctoral fellow interested on human-computer interaction and virtual and augmented reality.

  • Anastasia is a postdoctoral fellow at the Beedie School of Business focusing on regulations adopted by host states to govern foreign direct investment made by state-owned enterprises.

  • Friederike is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Environment.

  • Dr. Wilson studies the social-ecological diversity and resilience in Canadian fisheries.

  • Alexander is a postdoctoral fellow researching wetlands and their process of removing pollutants such as industrial wastes from the water. (Canadian Pacific/Teck Resources Award for Environmental Innovation, Simons Foundation Graduate Award in the Faculty of Environment, three Mitacs Accelerate internships and the Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship award)

  • Neethu is a postdoctoral fellow at the Beedie School of Business. She is an ethnographer who specializes in Economic Sociology, Gender, and Indigenous Studies.

  • Priyanka is working to identify and characterize new candidate proteins by integrating structural bioinformatics, biochemical and reverse proteomic approach.

  • Peter Thompson is a quantitative ecologist interested in developing innovative statistical methods that can be used to solve urgent problems in wildlife conservation and management. Peter is a recipient of the Liber Ero Postdoctoral Fellowship.

  • Sina is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology in the Faculty of Science researching how the brain controls walking under different conditions. He is a CIHR award recipient.

  • Dr. Letham examines shoreline changes in the Northwest Coast of North America.

  • Jens is a School of Computing Science Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Applied Sciences whose research is in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, a subarea of Artificial Intelligence that studies how an agent's knowledge can be represented symbolically and subsequently manipulated through reasoning algorithms.

  • Amber is an education Postdoctoral Fellow investigating how storied resistances against rape culture are enacted online through young adult (YA) fanfiction. (Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship)

  • Bulmaro specializes in the use of robotic devices and augmented real-time feedback to aid in the rehabilitation and assistance of people with disabilities.

  • Dr. Jones' research will study the influence of external interventions on microbiome composition.

  • Daniel is a postdoctoral fellow who is interested in developing new photonic quantum technologies to solve real-world problems.

  • Davoud is a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Mechatronics System Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. His research leverages cutting-edge technology to develop GIS-based solutions for analyzing and visualizing drone-acquired spatial data, particularly in the context of forestry applications.

  • Biswajit is a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Mechatronics System Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. His research will improve the efficiency of the electolyzer for green hydrogen production.

  • Jaspreet is a postdoctoral fellow in the department of Earth Sciences in the Faculty of Science. His research will contribute to remote sensing (LiDAR, Photogrammetry) for geohazard assessment in BC, Canada

  • Victoria is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Gerontology in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Her research aims to promote climate change adaptation and mitigation among older adults, with a strong focus on knowledge translation and community engagement.

  • Alberto is a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Digital Democracies Insitute and serves as the Deputy Director of the Institute. His work analyzes how the diffusion of digital means of production is reshaping organizations and professional cultures. In his current project he analyzes the implications of AI on creative labor and cultural expression.

  • Gregory is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department Chemistry in the Faculty of Science. His research focused on the development of new anticancer compounds that contain a metal atom at their core.

  • Sarah is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Her research studies how the health of humans, animals, and the environment are connected and how we can better manage diseases at the human-wildlife interface.

  • Sarah is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department Biomedical Physiology & Kinesiology in the Faculty of Science. Her research studies how the brain continues to develop with age and neurodegeneration. With a musical twist

  • ZeZhong is a Postdoctoral Fellow iin the School of Computing Science in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. His research focused on making complex information easier to understand through visual storytelling.

  • Soma is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in the Faculty of Science. Her research focuses on developing a nucleic acid concentrator for Point-of-Care (POC) diagnostics

  • Tamara is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Her research tries to investigate the positive, community-building functions of seemingly toxic linguistic behaviour.

  • Jungsoo is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences in the Faculty of Science. His research use metagenomic approaches to study the invisible life drifting through the air.

  • Mehdi is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Mechatronics Systems Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Science. His research explores the intersection of cognitive modeling, generative AI, and human-AI collaboration in autonomous driving.

  • Faezeh is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Science. Her research focuses on understanding the regulation of O-GlcNAc, a dynamic post-translational modification that plays critical roles in cellular signaling, neurodevelopment, and cancer.

  • Behnam is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. His research is focused on exoskeletons and wearable robots that help disabled people walk.

  • Amir is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Sustainable Energy Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. His research is conducted as part of an interdisciplinary research group focused on the integration of low-carbon solutions, such as vehicle electrification, micro-mobility, and advanced transportation planning to support the transition to cleaner and more sustainable urban mobility.

  • timothy is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Education. He is currently studying and sharing the role of the activist-as-educator through oral history interviews and archival research in state and community based archives.

  • Leah is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She is a human geographer who studies migration, non-citizenship, and labour.

  • Camila is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Engineering Sciences in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Her research focuses on the field of microelectronic fabrication on crystalline silicon substrates, as well as studies in photonic and reliability.

  • Marianna is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Science. Her research explores the chemistry of radiometal complexes for cancer imaging and therapy, driven by the excitement of turning fundamental science into medical solutions.

  • Anh is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Her research focuses on primary care, especially access and health equity. I’m fascinated by how data reveals patterns that improve care quality and reduce inequities. I want to help build a fairer health system for all.

  • Abid is a Postdoctoral Fellow in School of Engineering Science in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. His research focuses on MEMS silicon resonators, examining their design, modeling, and material properties.

  • Maryam is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in the Faculty of Science. She studies APOBEC DNA/RNA-editing enzymes and how they influence immunity and cancer. These enzymes protect us by mutating viral genomes but can also create harmful mutations that drive cancer.
