Heritage Policy Webinar
On March 11th, 2022 we hosted an online Heritage Policy webinar, "Exerting Indigenous Self-Determination in Local Heritage Policy."
We are incredibly grateful to the four wonderful knowledge holders who presented their experiences in developing local heritage policy:
- Nola Markey, Cultural Heritage Director with Little Shushwap Lake Band
- Karen Aird, Heritage Manager with the First Peoples' Cultural Council
- Jesse Morin, Independent Archaeologist with K'omoks First Nation, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, and Takla Nation
- Ginevra Toniello, Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Program Manager with the Tsleil-Waututh Nation
Our thanks to all attendees for your interest and for providing such thoughtful questions. We hope this webinar provides useful information and may serve to cultivate relationships to support Nations in the development of local heritage policies.
The webinar recording is posted below.
