Vlad Krakov
Master of Arts in Archaeology Candidate, SFU
My MA thesis focuses on the ancient settlement patterns of Xwe’etay’s dense mosaic of sites, and on exploring the recursive relationships between site placement and various social, ecological, and geographic factors. By focusing on a discrete social and environmental setting (i.e., an island), I hope to track the ancestral Northern Coast Salish social networks, from the village, to the neighbourhood, to the island.
I am deeply grateful to be working on and learning from this project, and to be learning from these landscapes and these cultures.
