Biography

Geoffrey is a Visiting Research Student from Kenya; he is a Master's student from Taita Taveta University currently pursuing MSc in Environmental Engineering. Geoffrey has participated in the Energy Modelling Platform for Africa (EMPA - 2023) whereby he was part of the team that learned and appreciated modeling to advise policies on resource use. Geoffrey is enthusiastic about sustainability in resource use and believes that modeling is one of the ways to advise policies on sustainability.
His research involves determining the impacts of climate change on Energy (Hydropower), Land, and Water systems using the CLEWs model. Additionally, he is determined to use the CLEWs model in investigating the synergies and trade-offs of renewable energy systems in Kenya based on its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
