ACCOUNTABLE VICE-PRESIDENT PORTFOLIO
PEOPLE, EQUITY AND INCLUSION
"Academic work on the connection between sustainability, equity and wellbeing is well established. In fact, sustainability is often defined as the intersection between the “Three E's”: equity, environment, and economy. As such, equity is a core aspect of sustainability work and it requires us at SFU to think about the various systems where we can have an impact—whether it be how we embed these concepts into our teaching and research, how we operationalize it to meet our climate change goals, or how we support the wellbeing of our students, faculty and staff.
The Equity Forum gave us an opportunity to think about how we embed sustainability into our core action areas related to the three pods that were launched this summer.
