Yabome Gilpin-Jackson has only just begun her role as SFU’s first Vice-President, People, Equity and Inclusion (VPPEI), but she is already taking steps to build the portfolio’s leadership team with the hiring of two Executive Directors.

The people side of the VPPEI portfolio will be led by an Executive Director, Human Resources and Labour Relations and an Executive Director, People & Organization Development, both roles that were in the recruitment process while Gilpin-Jackson was onboarding.

The search for the final member of the PEI leadership team – the Executive Director, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion – is still underway.

“These positions will positively impact SFU’s people and culture as we advance our people, equity and inclusion priorities and plans into the future,” says Gilpin-Jackson.
