Step 5: Solve Last Layer Edges

Finally we solve the remaining four edge pieces. We solve them in two stages:

  • move all four edge pieces into their correct locations (i.e. permute the edges)
  • twist all four edge pieces in their correct orientations (i.e. orient the edges)
To do this we'll use two move sequences, which are shown below this next video.

Edge 3-cycle: (for permuting edges)

  • a move sequence for placing middle layer edges which uses the 3-cycle used in Step 5;
  • an alternate edge 3-cycle, which could be used in Step 4.
