Kay Britton Mentor Award
On Saturday May 5th, Jacky Hughes was awarded the 2018 ECEBC Kay Britton Mentor Award at the Early Childhood Educators of BC provincial conference. Congratulations to Jacky in receiving this prestigious provincial award, we are very proud of her accomplishment!
The Kay Britton Mentorship Award is presented to an ECEBC member who embodies the exemplary qualities of an early childhood educator, actively guiding, mentoring, and inspiring others to gain skills and knowledge and to practice in an ethical and professional manner.
We know that Jacky embodies this in her work at SFUCCS but you may not realize that she has had and continues to have influence within the ECEBC (Early Childhood Educators of BC) through their leadership initiative. She was part of the 2013/2014 ECEBC Leadership Cohort and on the planning team for the Leadership Days at their annual conference. At this year's conference, she presented on the research involving our Learning Circle project (3-5 programs).
SFUCCS is proud to have Jacky leading and mentoring our educators!
