About Us

Reggio Inspired Curriculum

In response to Reggio inspiration we have implemented a curriculum based on documenting "ordinary" moments through photo narrations and ongoing projects. Our projects are developed based on the children's interest or from provocations developed from the educators' interests.

Reggio Inspired Curriculum

In response to Reggio inspiration we have implemented a curriculum based on documenting "ordinary" moments through photo narrations and ongoing projects. Our projects are developed based on the children's interest or from provocations developed from the educators' interests.

Inspired by the practice of infant/toddler and pre-schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy, we pay particular attention to the aesthetics of our setting. We believe the environment is a participant in the learning process of the children. Our educators provide the children with the opportunity to engage the environment through a thoughtful and intentional process, a variety of setups and provocations.

Welcome to SFU Childcare!

We are situated on top of Burnaby mountain nestled in the trees on the west side of campus and in the new UniverCity neighbourhood. We provide the highest quality childcare to the families of SFU, its alumni, UniverCity resident families, and families from the broader community.

Our facilities are specifically built for the provision of childcare where each program has its own dedicated indoor and outdoor play space. Each program is staffed by qualified and experienced early childhood educators.

We believe in preparing children for life through a play-based philosophy where staff and parents are co-learners along with the children in their program.
