Biography

Hi, my name is Samin and I am a 4th year computer engineering student. I joined WiE in September of 2020 and that is one of the best decisions I made at university. I met so many people who I call my friends now and I am so glad of all the achievements we had as a team. My favorite memory of WiE is the international women's day where we all gathered and celebrated and played fun games. In my free time, I love going for long walks, baking cakes and cookies and enjoying beautiful sunsets. I also believe there is no problem that cannot be solved with ice- cream :)

I am a fourth year computer engineering student who loves to read, go to the gym, and spend time with my friends! I have been a part of WiE since 2020, and I truly love being part of a team that works to expand the presence of women in Engineering.

Biography

Christina is a fourth-year Sustainable Energy Engineering student. She loves to read, watch k-dramas, and spend time with her cat, Soup. As VP Communications, she hopes to encourage young women to pursue a career in STEM and help provide an inclusive environment for everyone in engineering.

Palak Sharma

Biography

Palak is a third year computer engineering student and is planning to minor in computer science. She is passionate about working for female empowerment and education, and hopes to make the STEM fields more inclusive through her work as the VP External. In her free time, Palak loves to read, hike, and spend time in the mountains, and hopes to go backpacking around the world one day.

Daphne is a third year engineering student, majoring in electronics. Through WiE, she found an interest in helping women have a more comfortable experience while studying engineering. As the director of creative for WiE, she uses her creativity and love for design to evoke change.

I'm Uchechi, a final-year Computer Engineering student at SFU! Joining WiE was a natural choice for me - I wanted to give back to the SFU community in a way that resonated with my experiences as a black woman in STEM. One fun fact about me is that I love exploring new restaurants and capturing my favorite moments through video archives. In my spare time, I enjoy trying out new recipes from my collection of cookbooks and immersing myself in the French language!

Sundus is a third year student majoring in computer engineering. As a part of the club, she hopes to encourage young girls to be confident in their STEM abilities and inspire them to pursue engineering in the future. She loves to read and crochet in her free time.

Hello! I'm a third-year systems engineering student with a passion for aerospace and cars. I joined WiE because I loved the community it built. My favourite memory was the first event I went to, compass on campus, it made me feel so welcomed and I made so many great friends. In my free time, I watch cricket and motor sporting events.

My name is Arden McEvoy and I am in my third year of Electronics Engineering. In my first year of Engineering, I really enjoyed the mentorship events organized by WiE and decided that I wanted to be apart of the team! I am excited to connect with other students and hope to inspire future generations of young females considering a career in STEM. In my free time, I enjoy going for hikes and also love to travel!
