Biography

Hello! My name is Arden and I am in my fifth and final year of Electronics Engineering. I first got involved with WiE after attending their mentorship events in my first year. I loved the supportive and inspiring community and knew that I wanted to be part of the team. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to take on several roles within WiE, including the Director of Marketing for the WiE Design Team, Director of Outreach, Vice President of Outreach, and now President.

Anchal Badhwar

Hi! I'm Anchal Badhwar, a third- year Computer Engineering student at SFU. I joined Women in Engineering (WIE) because I wanted to be part of a community that supports and uplifts women in STEM while helping organize events that bring people together. One of my favourite memories with WIE has been planning our social events and networking with people along the way. Outside of school, I love working out, playing badminton, and baking some cakes.

Hi! I'm Esha and I'm a third-year Mechatronic Systems Engineering Student. I joined WiE because I wanted to help build a supportive and welcoming space for women in STEM and be part of a community that lifts each other up. In my free time, I love going on hikes, reading and listening to music.

Hi, my name is Elaiza and I am a 5th year computer engineering student at SFU. My favourite part of WiE has been forming deep-rooted relationships with my peers, helping each other grow day-by-day. Outside of school, I like to watch the NBA and to immerse myself in nature!

Hi! I'm Viven and I'm a fifth year computer engineering student. I joined WiE in 2023 as the Director of External Relations. During my time in WiE, I've been fortunate to be part of an inspiring, empowering, and inclusive community of amazing individuals. Through my involvement, I hope to encourage young women to pursue a degree in STEM. In my spare time I enjou reading, hiking, and going to cafes.

Hello! I'm a third-year systems engineering student with a passion for rockets and cars. I joined WiE because I loved the community it built. My favourite memory was the first event I went to, compass on campus, it made me feel so welcomed and I made so many great friends. In my free time, I watch hockey and motor sporting events.

I joined WiE to help support other women in such a male dominated field as engineering, and I love seeing us all building connections throughout out time at SFU. In my free time I do a lot of outdoor sports such as hiking, skiing, and climbing - reach out if you ever want an adventure buddy!

Hi! I'm Ira and I am a third- year computer engineering student. I joined WiE because engineering is a field often dominated by men, and I wanted to be part of a community that actively promotes and celebrates women in STEM. WiE gave me the opportunity to represent and support women in engineering, and that means a lot to me. My favourite memory with WiE is Networking Night 2024. It was such an inspiring and energizing event! In my free time. you can find me baking sweet treats.

Hello! I'm Lucy, a 5th year computer engineering student at SFU. I joined WiE after developing a deep admiration for such an inspiring, empowering community, and wanted to give back to the community that welcomed me so much. I hope to empower and support other fellow women in STEM, and provide them a comfortable, supportive space. Throughout my time as a member in WiE, I have gained life-long friendships, and have enjoyed getting to know my peers and community more and more! In my free time, I really enjoy art as a hobby and designing merchandise.

I love to support my peers, meet new people and being the wonderful and welcoming community that it is... I was compelled to join WIE. The environment that WIE brings to SFU, gave me a sense of belonging, and being part of this team feels like of giving- back. Aside from WIE, I enjoy spending time in nature, playing soccer and tennis, doing art and making friends! I'm also interested in cars, history, culture, and learning languages! :)

My favourite part of WiE is getting to work with kids and spark their interest in engineering through my role as Director of Outreach.
