Transfer From Another Post-Secondary Institution

Areas of study can include microelectronics, computer engineering, robotics, biomedical engineering, multimedia, systems or telecommunications.
Vancouver Community College (VCC) transfer program
VCC students can transfer to second-year Engineering Science once they satisfy the requirements of this certificate program.
Douglas College transfer program
Douglas students can transfer to second-year Engineering Science once they satisfy the requirements of the Engineering Foundations certificate PLUS two “bridging courses”: ENGR 1100 and ENGR 1180. Furthermore, you must choose the CMNS 1135 course within the certificate.
Check entry requirements
Students transferring from other institutions must have at least 24 transferable credits including:
- at least one mathematics course chosen from: MATH 152, MATH 232 (or 240);
- at least one computing course chosen from: CMPT 128 (or 135; or (125 and 127)), and 225;
- at least one physics course chosen from: PHYS 121 (or 141), PHYS 221, and PHYS 321
Credits will only be awarded for appropriate academic courses at accredited institutions. Some credit may be awarded to applicants who have graduated with first-class standing from recognized technology programs. Check the transfer guide at www.bctransferguide.ca. Prospective transfer students must apply to SFU online, indicating the Faculty of Applied Science as your preferred faculty and BASc Engineering Science as your preferred program.
Engineering Science as their primary option.

Student Services processes all applications for entry to SFU. Offers begin early in the new year – but most are sent in April and May.
