Paula Barker

Director, Operations and Administration

Biography

With 20 years of progressive Business and IT expertise as a Senior Consultant / Project Manager (PM) within the Ontario Public Service (OPS) and BC public service respectively, Paula’s work has focused on the delivery of strategic plans relating to transforming the delivery of public-facing service and support through omni-channel frameworks, cultivating strategic partnerships through collaborative engagement, and leading initiatives aimed at identifying revenue generating opportunities.

With a successful track record of helping prominent provincial ministries achieve operational efficiencies through strategic business process reengineering and innovative IT enablement, Paula is looking forward to supporting similar efforts as part of the SFU International team.

Paula is an SFU alumni, having successfully completed SFU’s Human Resources management certification, and is currently embarking on her Executive MBA journey at Ivey School of Business, Western University.

As part of her contribution to the IT community, Paula has served as a volunteer Mentor with Bizhacks.ca.

In her spare time, Paula can be found travelling (she loves finding new cities to explore), and hiking Grouse Mountain on Vancouver’s beautiful North Shore.
