To be the leading engaged university defined by its dynamic integration of innovative education, cutting-edge research and far-reaching community engagement.
The Power of Engagement
To celebrate SFU’s 50th anniversary, we’re making a landmark commitment to become one of the world’s most engaged universities.
But we need your help.
Our Power of Engagement campaign aims to generate $250 million for a series of inspiring initiatives in three strategic areas: engaging research, engaging students and engaging community. With your support, we’ll build our next 50 years on a strong foundation of dynamic engagement.
Here's what we're planning:
Creating new research chairs and professorships. Help us attract and support leading researchers who not only bring tremendous levels of expertise and knowledge to SFU, but have the ability to mentor students and lead multi-organization research networks that leverage the knowledge and strength available throughout our community.
Increasing undergraduate and graduate bursaries and scholarships. These help us attract and retain top students, reward academic excellence and ensure a mechatronic systems engineering education is accessible to all who qualify. We are seeking donors to fund awards in specific program areas as well as those wishing to create named awards.
Strengthening young people’s exposure to mechatronics systems engineering. This includes school outreach programs as well as university clubs and summer camps. Our Engaging the World endowment fund will also support students and faculty on volunteer programs in developing countries.
Help us enhance the educational experience in the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering. Annual giving can fund student scholarships and bursaries or enable us to upgrade research and teaching facilities.
Endowed gifts can also allow you to fund areas of the university to which you feel personally connected – and help provide a lasting financial legacy that delivers long-term support for our students and teaching programs.
Please consider making a meaningful gift to the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering. With careful planning and balancing tax considerations as well as personal priorities, you can make this gift now or in the future. Planned giving can include wills and bequests, public securities, life insurance and endowments.
We are always grateful to receive targeted equipment and supplies from our valued industry partners. These help enrich our research and teaching labs.
