Step 5: Find Your Supervisor

MASc and PhD program admissions at the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering are faculty driven. Applicants are required to have a Mechatronics faculty member who is willing to act as their supervisor and submit an admission recommendation for them.

Please get in touch with an MSE faculty member to establish a connection. You can find each member's research interest at the link. Faculty members review applications and make recommendations on an ongoing basis when they are ready to take on new students. Faculty members who are recommending you for admission will notify you of the recommendation.

Note that we are only able to offer admission to MASc and PhD applicants who have an admission recommendation submitted by an MSE faculty member.

Step 6: Submit Your Application

Follow the instructions on the Application Process page of the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) website to submit your application online, and pay the application fee.

The admission process can take from a few weeks up to a few months. You will be contacted by the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering if you have been recommended for admission. If you have questions regarding your application, please contact our Graduate Program Assistant at mse_grad_admission@sfu.ca.
