Poetry For Peace: For Palestine and All Occupied Peoples

Poetry for Peace: For Palestine and All Occupied Peoples

Friday, 1 December 2023
6:30 - 8:30 PM

Join SFU Slam Poetry, cosponsored by CCMS, for a healing evening of poetry and spoken word at SFU in Burnaby, BC. This event aims to facilitate a space of community support and solidarity with the Palestinian people facing genocide, occupation, displacement, and for all other peoples facing similar current or historical circumstances. Let's come together to celebrate the power of words. Through the art of poetry, we can create a space for community support, understanding, empathy, and solidarity. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of this space for peace. Specific location TBA.

THIS IS NOT AN OPEN MIC.

SFU Slam Poetry Club is now accepting poets to perform on the topic of Palestine, or any other current oppressed and occupied people. It must be original content and you must submit your poem for review before being accepted as a performer. We will allow more than 1 poem. Please sign up to perform here: https://forms.gle/q65R927XySvWtJtGA

A small honorarium will be given to approved performers sponsored by CCMS.
